Cazenovia, NY
Collective Mending uses the vocabulary and technique of weaving to visibly mend an area of disturbed open woodland, cleared to manage Emerald Ash Borer and other invasives, as well as restore a historical viewshed to Cazenovia Lake.
In May 2025, participants walked the land in a textile grid: as warp and as weft, hand-broadcasting seeds for this meadow restoration project.
Pathways were fist delinated with mulch, and then “woven” with mats created by visitors to Stone Quarry Hill Art Park.
